TW: Sexual Abuse, Emotional Abuse

I just heard the news that LANY is back on tour, and I can’t help but feel disappointed. In recent years, we’ve seen the power of social media in exposing sexual harassment in the music industry. Sadly, this return to touring comes amidst some severe allegations of sexual misconduct against Paul Klein, the lead singer of LANY. Multiple individuals have come forward with similar claims, and it’s disheartening to see music venues, festivals, and brands continuing to support LANY despite these allegations. What’s even more concerning is that some of their young female fans, including underage girls, may be unknowingly put at risk.

The music industry must take responsibility and hold individuals and organizations accountable for their actions. In the case of LANY, I strongly believe that the CAA Touring Group and Creative Artists Agency should take immediate action by removing Paul Klein from their rosters and canceling their upcoming world tour. Additionally, it’s essential for these management companies to publicly condemn such behavior and send a clear message to artists that there will be consequences for continued misconduct.

The allegations against Paul Klein aren’t isolated incidents; they indicate a disturbing pattern of behavior that has allegedly spanned several years. It’s deeply troubling to discover evidence on Klein’s social media accounts, showing a history of inappropriate comments and advances toward young girls attending his concerts. This lack of respect and disregard for boundaries is alarming. Furthermore, victims have bravely come forward, accusing Klein of sexual and emotional abuse, intensifying the gravity of the allegations.

The silence from management companies and promoters following these allegations is disheartening. On the other hand, the courage and strength displayed by those supporting Klein’s accusers speak volumes. It’s essential to call out those who choose to remain silent, as their inaction perpetuates a culture that enables perpetrators to escape accountability.

It’s time to put pressure on organizations that support known predators. We, as fans, concert-goers, and supporters, must demand better protection for young women and survivors of sexual misconduct. It’s essential to hold festivals accountable for hosting artists like LANY, ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees, particularly vulnerable underage girls.

The allegations against Paul Klein and the disappointment surrounding LANY’s return to touring weigh heavily on my heart. To bring about real change, the CAA Touring Group, Creative Artists Agency, and other relevant parties must take swift action. Removing Klein from their rosters and canceling the upcoming tour sends a powerful message that predatory behavior will not be tolerated in the music industry. Together, we have the power to create a safer environment, protect young women, and amplify the voices of survivors. Let’s not stay silent but instead demand accountability and strive for meaningful change.
